Her mother was a trained classical singer, and her father, Vijaya Bhave, was a passionate patron of the arts who managed theatre productions in Mumbai.Recognizing her innate pitch and rhythm at the early age of four, her formal vocal training began under classical gurus including Rajani Aurangabadkar, Pramilatai Sathe, and Madhavi Mhaisalkar. She delivered her debut public stage performance on June 7, 1992, at the Dr. Vasantrao Deshpande Hall in Nagpur, embarking on a professional performing path that began in Nagpur and expanded to Mumbai and global concert stages.

Her audition rendition of Lata Mangeshkar’s "Ruke Ruke Se Kadam" earned immediate acclaim from celebrity judge Sonu Nigam.
